Sunday 20th – Sunday 27th May 2012

With Mandy de Winter, Judy King and Serendipity plus guest Michel Duijves

Course Venue

Emerald Hotel Apartments, Plaka Apokoronou, Chania and The Marin Dream Hotel, Heraklion.

Course Content

This will be a dance holiday to remember! We will dance every morning and have the rest of the day free to explore, relax, walk, spontaneously dance - or do whatever moves you!

The opening hour of every day will be led by Judy to recorded music: the rest of the morning we will enjoy dancing to live music from Serendipity and friends - led by Mandy.

We will also experience a morning learning Cretan dances led by a local dance teacher as well as enjoy an evening where we have a group meal accompanied by traditional music (which just might draw us to our dancing feet!

The last day and night of our holiday will be spent in a hotel in Heraklion. This gives us the opportunity to visit the famous Minoan Palace of Knossos and have a final group meal together in a local taverna, also accompanied by traditional music from local musicians in Heraklion.

Accommodation

There are 11 self-catering apartments, each apartment can accommodate 3 people and consists of a bedroom (with either twin beds or a double bed) and a separate living area. In the open plan living area there is a comfortable sofa bed and a well equipped kitchen. All apartments have two balconies (one at the bedroom and another at the living area) and a bathroom (some with a bathtub, some with a shower). Views are to the sea and to the mountain villages.

We will eat breakfast together as a group (included in the price). All subsequent meals are at your own expense. There is a swimming pool.

The minimum number to make this holiday happen is 25 participants and the maximum is 30.

Other things you'll need to know

  • The easiest airport to fly into on a Sunday is Heraklion. I will be there with a coach to meet you
and take you to the Emerald Apartments. The coach will leave at a set time. Please check with me before booking your flight. If you arrive after this time or your plane is significantly delayed, you are responsible for the cost of getting yourself to the Apartments.
  • The temperature should be a lovely 25 degrees. It will obviously be cooler in the evenings.
  • The dance floor is hard (not wooden, so I suggest you dance in shoes not bare feet).
  • Bring a hat! Sometimes we will be dancing in the open air.
  • To book your place, please send me a non-returnable deposit of €200 (euros).
  • You MUST take out holiday insurance for this week. Due to my various significant financial
commitments in running this course, I am unable to offer refunds on your deposit if you have to
    cancel.

As I’m sure you can appreciate, trying to organize a foreign holiday is very challenging! I have made the best estimates on price that I can, taking inflation into account but I’m sure that you appreciate that I can’t pin down prices exactly. I will do everything in my power to make sure that prices do not increase, but I must reserve the right to charge a supplement if prices do go haywire.

All the prices I have been quoted are in Euros. So in order to cope with the fluctuation in exchange rate between the pound and the euro you need to pay for this holiday in euros. Please contact me for my Euros bank account details.
