Slipsteps and Quavers Springtime Holiday Monday May 25th to Friday May 29th 2009 The Earnley Concourse Chichester West Sussex This course offers five days of delighting in Circle Dancing, Singing and Music-Making. Dancing There will be morning and evening sessions of dance with additional optional early morning and late afternoon opportunities to sing, drum and play music. This still leaves ample time for spontaneous happenings or glorious relaxation. The dancing will offer a mixture of moods, energies and themes whilst the singing will explore different vocal traditions (e.g. Balkan, African, Devotional). The music making sessions will provide the opportunity to learn Circle Dance tunes and experiment with different drumming rhythms. Singing and Music-Making Discover your hidden musician, the joys of singing, playing music and being in the Dance together. (N.B. You do not need to be able to read the dots to participate in the singing or music-making as learning by ear will be encouraged.) The Venue The Earnley Concourse is situated close to the Cathedral city of Chichester in West Sussex in open countryside and only a short distance from the sea. Over ten years experience of this venue which offers five days of comfort, pampering and excellent food; a delightful dance studio with a sprung wooden dance floor plus facilities second to none including an indoor heated swimming pool, mean we just have to keep coming back. Accommodation will be in spacious twin-bedded rooms which have en-suite bathrooms and are equipped with T.V., radio, telephone and tea-making facilities. N.B. Single rooms are available on request - early booking recommended A comprehensive menu which can cater for vegetarian and special diets, is home-cooked and abundant. Cost and Booking Places are strictly limited to 30. This is an extremely popular event which is already filling up, so please book early to avoid disappointment. The all-inclusive cost is Accommodation: £300. Course fee: on a sliding scale of between £150-£200. A £150 deposit is required at the time of booking.
