2013 | Moving Voices with Mandy de Winter and Judy KingAt: High Leigh Conference Centre, Lord Street, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, EN11 8SG The course will offer a colourful programme, weaving together song and dance into our theme “The Keynote is Balance”. Mandy will be teaching the singing. Don’t worry if you can’t read music or think you can’t sing! Mandy is an enabling teacher who encourages people to discover their musical selves. She creates a safe space where both the accomplished singer and beginner are at ease in creating rich and beautiful harmonies and all the teaching will be done ‘by ear’. Judy will be teaching the dancing and her teaching style takes you and the group towards a deeper experience and a sensitive awareness of the dance.
Together they make a dynamic partnership and offer you a rich and wonderful experience.

2013 Live Music | Winter Solstice Celebrationwith Mandy de Winter and Serendipity and Michel Duijves Little Wenlock Village Hall, near Telford, Shropshire.
In the afternoon (3.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.), Mandy will take us on a beautiful singing journey. She will teach us songs that lead us into the darkness and celebrate the return of the light with an accompanying candle ceremony.
Don’t worry if you think you can’t sing- you’ll be surprised what you can do under Mandy’s gentle guidance. All learning is ‘by ear’ so you don’t need to read music.
After a shared supper, there will be dancing to live music from your own local band Serendipity (Mandy, Judy King & Chris Hall) who will be joined by the wonderful clarinet player from Holland, Michel Duijves from 7.30 p.m. – 10.00 p.m.
It is very special to come together as a loving community and celebrate this festival in a meaningful and celebratory way.

2014 | From Bach to the Balkanswith Mandy de Winter and Judy KingCome and join Mandy and Judy on this new course doing what they love and do best!
From Bach will be taught by Judy who simply loves dancing with her whole body and soul to classical music. There are many beautiful circle dances which have been choreographed to some stunning pieces of music. It won’t just be Bach- we will dance to music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel, Telemann ……. as well as to some ‘modern’ classical composers.
Most of the dances are gentle and relaxing with an occasional burst of higher energy! All the steps are simple and accessible - thus enabling you to fully engage with the deeply moving music.
….to the Balkans will be taught by Mandy whose love of Balkan music and dance is simply infectious. She has a unique way of imparting her knowledge of these
exciting and unique rhythms through her inspired choice of dances and when immersed in these dances, dances with the dust of the country on the soles of her feet.
She will also lead us in a song or two.
The contrasting styles of music and dance coupled with Mandy and Judy’s complementary teaching styles will make this a very special way to spend the bank holiday.
At Wydale Hall, Brompton by Sawdon, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, YO13 9DG
Wydale Hall is a 17th Century country house set in 14 acres on the edge of the North York Moors National Park within a 15 minute drive of Scarborough or 30 minutes from Whitby.
The hall is very beautiful with plenty of natural light and with stunning views over the valley. There are some beautiful flat lawns to encourage us to dance outside if the weather allows.
All accommodation is in single, twin or double very lovely en-suite rooms.
There are quiet spaces in the house if that is what you need; beautiful grounds to sit and walk in; rolling landscape to escape into. The food is very good and special diets are well catered for.
NUMBERS: are limited to 25 with a minimum of 20 to make the course viable.

There will be a daily dance session with live from Serendipity and Michel as well as dancing to recorded music with Judy.

The week will include dancing with local Greek teachers as well as the opportunity to enjoy the sounds and dance with local musicians in nearby tavernas.
